
When we set out to build these portable car heaters, we had one clear goal in mind: pack a serious amount of heat into a tiny space, without draining your vehicle’s electrical system. Here’s the heart of it all. We’re talking about a high-intensity halogen quartz tube, built to run at 2500W and 400V. That voltage rating isn’t random—it’s what gives you that powerful burst of warmth while keeping the current draw in check. The 300mm tube length then focuses all that energy into one concentrated spot, giving you the kind of intense heat you need for a fast warm-up or to target a specific area. The design is all about surviving the real world. The quartz envelope is tough enough to handle the shock of turning on instantly. And the internal halogen gas cycle keeps the filament stable, so you don’t have to worry about it burning out too soon. Then there’s the R7s connector. We chose it on purpose. It’s a simple, direct bi-pin connection that wires up in a flash and locks in tight. That solid connection is built to handle the constant vibration of a vehicle on the move. This setup was born for the field and for mobile workshops. It’s small enough to fit in tight spots, and thanks to that R7s interface, swapping it in for an old unit is a breeze. Now, the trade-off is heat density. You get intense, focused warmth, but that means the housing and mounting hardware around it have to be rated for high heat. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all heater.
